Our Lost Nature - Stories From Yasin Valley

The North is in trouble. Situated in the topmost corner of the country, Yasin Valley of Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan has been the epicentre of various glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs) that have displaced thousands. And what often gets ignored as the government makes peace-meal contributions to support the people is the trauma they experience after witnessing their homes get swept away by the water.

Our team ventured on this journey to uncover these stories, and hear from the people themselves what should be done to look after their needs. We explored their daily lives, their past, and how climate change is threatening their valuable agricultural produce, amidst the wider disconnect they feel from the nature their ancestors used to worship. These are the stories from Yasin Valley.
